Tradition Of Lights

Diwali lights are the embodiment of happiness, prosperity and good fortune. Traditionally, diyas are the symbol of this eternal light. According to the famous legendary tale, a series of diyas were lit in order to pave a bright path for Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lakshmana when they were returning to their hometown Ayodhya after a time span of fourteen years. It can also be seen as a gesture of flaunting their happiness by the people of Ayodhya.

Since ages, the flame of light has been seen as the light of knowledge, wisdom, faith and goodness. The glowing flame inspire us to indulge our mind, body and soul into hard work and achieve the impossible. Hindu beliefs have a firm and rooted history in terms of lights. They symbolize light with the soul of human beings who are a part of the metaphysical universe. Fire being one of the five constituent elements of our body becomes all the more important. In short we can say that light stands for the survival of virtue over vice. With the rays of it spreads the elements of happiness, brotherhood and love. Thus, the significance of light is more than evident before us. It is a must to be included element of any jollifications.

Present times see lights in different shapes and sizes. Lights have got a designer look to them. Beautiful lamp shades, colorful diyas, big and small candles, handi lamps, electric rope and a lot more to decorate your house from inside and out. Amavasya night of Diwali is brightened up with thousands of lights of all colors, which sets the mood for celebrations of the occasion. The Rangoli adorned with lights accentuates it's beauty. Similarly the Diwali night is under the covers of thousands of lights all over widening every smile and making the night sparkle. It lends an ostentatious look to the houses, marketplaces and pathways that reflect the generous inflow of wealth and prosperity.

It is the time of the year when shopping spree is at it's peak. People buy things for themselves as well as their loved ones to present them as gifts.
