Diwali Fireworks

The crackling sounds of fireworks adds to the festivities of any jolly occasion. They light up the atmosphere thereby giving a special feel of excitement. But, think of it. Had the people of Ayodhya celebrated the grand event of Lord Rama's return to his hometown by displaying the fireworks and what about the commemoration Lord Krishna's triumph over Narakasura at that time? Those people did not even know about it. The origin of fireworks can dated back to a couple of centuries ago in China.

After performing puja rituals and completing the gift exchanging ceremony comes the moment eagerly waited especially by kids and youngsters. They enjoy the Diwali celebrations by bursting firecrackers and by dancing with gaiety. There is a wide range of fireworks available in the market nowadays. Some of them create a bang in the air with just a flash of light, some go high in the sky thereby creating a marvelous display of colors and some constitute both the elements. Taking one step ahead, fireworks come in various shapes as well. There can be found fireworks in the shape of butterflies, fishes and even in the shape of religious symbols like swastika and om. Diwali is popularly known as the festival of lights and fireworks add myriad colors to it.

Despite so much of enthusiasm there is for firecrackers and fireworks, they have been a subject of conspiracy for a long time now for they cause soaring level of air pollution. Also, the makers of these firecrackers are the small hands of underprivileged children of the society. The pathetic atmosphere of the cracker factories exposes them to toxic gases that cause many deaths or life threatening diseases to them. With this thought many organizations and school children take out processions where they shout slogans encouraging ban on firecrackers. These are called Anti-cracker campaigns.

Diwali is a celebration of goodness where evil should not be given any scope to exist. One should limit the use of firecrackers so that we keep secure our rights towards our Mother earth as well as Nation without letting our festival go in dullness.
