Diwali Crafts

Invoke the best of your creative muses and indulge in Diwali activities. Make beautiful items that you can use to either decorate your homes or gift them to your loved ones. We give you the easy methods to make new Diwali crafts or bedeck the ones which are already there. Following are some of the items that you can create easily so that your Diwali celebrations get a personalized touch.

Diwali Cards

However, there are many ways of making Diwali cards. You just have to think creatively. To start with take a handmade paper, which is hard enough to form a strong base to the card. Make sure you choose a vibrant color that would give a festive feel to your creation. Fold it into the shape of a card. Now the design depends entirely upon you. You can embellish your card with images of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi or can cover it with a beautiful printed cloth. If you wish to choose the former design, then take a plastic back-flat image of the deity or a religious symbol and paste it in the middle of the card with a square base of paper of different color from the base. Outline that square with a zari (gold lace). Use a lot of chamkis and glitter to make it more attractive. Otherwise, you can follow the same procedure over the printed cloth. Make a square shaped cut and paste the deity inside the card to give it a three dimensional look. The choice is all yours. Include in it an inspirational message and your heartfelt wishes with a glitter pen. You can also make a poem to dedicate to your loved one.

Decorate Puja Thali

Another most loved activity during the Diwali season is to beautify the puja thali. Puja thali is one of the integral parts of Diwali prayers and rituals. Through it, we commemorate the idol of the deity and thus it represents our devotion and respect for the supreme powers of the Lord. Now we provide with easy methods to transform a simple puja thali into an ethnic creation of art. Take a simple thali and glue all over it a vibrant colored printed cloth. Paste gold zari on the edges of the thali. You can make the symbol of om or swastika on the thali with the help of your fingers dipped in the a wet mixture of roli and rice. Place in it all puja items. They would surely look gracious.

Make beautiful wall hangings and decorate Diyas with lot of colors so that these colors are reflected in your festivities and fill your life as well of those around you with the same spirit.
