Diwali Calendar

Diwali 2007 is going to be observed on 9th November, Friday. Diwali date entirely depends upon the positioning of the moon. But what is fixed is that Diwali falls on the fifteenth night of Karthika according to the Hindu Calendar. It is a no moon night and is called as 'Amavasya' in Hindi. But, with the glow of diyas, candles and other electric bulbs the aura is so much enlightened that the shadow of darkness is bound to run away.
After exact 20 days comes the auspicious festival of Diwali. We provide you with the Diwali calendar starting from year 2006 till 2008 so that you are well prepared for the most awaited festival called Diwali. Plan the best for the occasion way ahead.

Amongst so much of excitement if we take out time to look deeper into the meaning of Diwali, we can illuminate our minds just as we illuminate our houses during the festival of Diwali. All festivals commemorate one or the other goodness of life. While Raksha Bandhan celebrates the pious bond of brother and sister, Christmas is in the honor of th e birth of Lord Jesus Christ to redeem mankind. Similarly, Diwali is a festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Every legendary story related to the festival is an allegory to the same fact that one should be thoughtful while performing one's karma.

The indication is not one dimensional but Ramayana, the holy book, deals with an ideal life on the whole. Lord Rama, the 'Maryada-Purushottam', a perfect husband, a perfect son, perfect brother and so on. Sita, a perfect wife, a perfect mother, a perfect daughter and so on. It is a depiction of almost a 'Perfect' world and whosoever tries to destabilize the harmony, meets an ill-end or realizes his or her mistake. It gives inspiration on every aspect of life. A moral tale, where at last the villain has to meet death and with him ends the vice.

Therefore, Deepavali plays a pivotal role in the lives of Indians. No just it brings along so many reasons to rejoice with happiness but enlightens us so that we are able to lead a serene and happy life. Each and every custom and tradition of Diwali holds meaning to it. On the one hand, lights stand for the illumination of spirits and on the other hand, exchanging gifts encourage love and affection in the society. Let's celebrate Diwali with more happiness and imbibe in our life the goodness of it.
