Since Diwali brings along new beginnings and is the festival to commemorate victory of truth and goodness, it is associated to the spread of happiness and prosperity. Happiness and prosperity come from knowledge, wisdom, possession of wealth as well as health. Think about them and what comes in our mind is the image of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. While Lord Ganesha stands for auspicious beginnings and wisdom, Goddess Lakshmi is the benefactor of health and wealth. During Diwali season, idols and images of both the deities are worshiped and placed in every home with great respect.
Light is another principal element in Diwali symbols. Homes, markets, temples and everything is glowing with brilliant lights around Diwali. It is believed that these lights help in drifting away all kinds if negative vibes and fills the surrounding with the light of knowledge and of happiness. Thus, not even a single corner is left unlit on the day. There are numerous candles, oil diyas, electric bulbs making the Amavasya night scintillating. As it makes the house look all the more enticing, this can also be seen as the welcoming symbol.
Another welcoming symbol in list is Rangoli. Myths say that on the Diwali day, Goddess Lakshmi pays visit to each of her devotees home and shower on them her blessings. In order to welcome the Goddess people make Rangoli on the entrance of their house. The view of torans on the door and rangoli on the floor makes a magnificent look.
The sign of swastika and om can be seen on everywhere, thereby lending a divine touch to the atmosphere. Make your Diwali more auspicious by adding the power of Diwali symbols to your celebrations.
